The product I received was the product that was advertised.I have had no issues with mine, and it does everything they said it would.The programmable SAME is great, and the automatic alert feature is excellentas well.If you want a handy, portable, user friendly weather radio, get this one.
It worked marginally for about 6 months. The product claims reception up to 50 miles.
I will never purchase a Oregon Scientific product again. It does not work at all now.
It could only pick up the channel randomly while signal indicator showed a strong signal. Waste of money.
I have had this radio for one year now. The 1000 watt transmission tower is 15 miles away.
Signal indicator still says it is a strong signal.
Everything is okay with the radio now. The company I bought it from would not contact me after I had a problem with the radio so I ended up contacting the make for a replacement, which they did with no problem. Be carefull who you buy from on the internet.
But thats a good thing if your family's safety is at possible risk. Don't worry that you may not beable to hear it when it sounds an alarm. If you live in any area that is prone to Tornados the Weather Radio is a must for home safety. Just turn it on and put it somewhere in your home that is out of the way. Trust me it's loud.
